Got a load to remove from a couple of hoggies. The O Tom tick hooks seem to do the best job. Nasty creatures.  >:(

I used a method  a chap at work told me about, you rotate your finger anticlockwise around the tic (it doesnt matter if you touch them) and for some reason they dont seem to like it and release their hold and drop away. Was very sceptical when he told me, but he was right  :)

Blimey ! sounds intriguing. Just taken a couple of dozen of the nymphs (3mm) off. Nasty business. :(

Thats what you do with the tick tool, it just saves you having to touch the horrid thing  :tongue2: not sure the rotational direction matters though  ??? but then I run a mile from that kind of operation and OH does the deed (while I hold the torch)  ::).

The biggest mistake you can make with a tick is fiddling, just get hold and get the job done  :)

Spot 'em, grab 'em, twist & pull, jobs a good un   ;)

Don't squeeze the abdomen but hold them as close to the skin as possible with some tweezers, a gentle pull and they will let go.
