Title: Too Late to Sow? Where to buy plants?
Post by: adri on April 21, 2018, 10:11
At this time of year I've normally got so many plants I don't know what to do with them...

This year nothing.  Been too busy to even sow seeds...ugh!!

Where's the best value to buy tomato, cucumber, chilli plants?

Any recommendations?

TIA

Adri

For cucumbers, you can sow now and all through April and May.
They are quick to germinate about 6-9 days.
For tomatoes, still fine to sow now.
I sowed a load of different varieties about 7-10 days ago and are already a few inches high.

Do not sow chilli Myself, but April is fine for sowing them.

I agree with lettice.

It's been such a cold spring that I've only just started sowing. Things will catch up :)

Chillies and peppers aside I don't normally start sowing 'tender' stuff till around now. My tom seeds were sown about a week ago, and are nearly all up, and my squash, courgette, cucumber and corn seeds went in today.
