Storing Spinach
« on: September 17, 2012, 13:30 »
I know I could just Google the answer to this but thought I would ask here anyhow.

Can Spinach be frozen and, if so, I presume you need to blanch it first?

Thanks,
Paul.

You don't even need to blanch it, you can wash, dry and place leaves in a freezer bag and get as much air out as possible.

Just add to dishes as required, but of course they won't come out of the freezer the way they looked when they went in, so this is only really for use in cooked dishes, but if you blanched them first this would be the case too. :)
