Heat retaining socks that actually work.
« on: September 19, 2023, 11:08 »
Good morning everyone,  can anyone recommend socks that actually keep my toes warm?  I have sampled quite a few products but they all fall short of doing the job they are advertised to do.

The last of the garlic cloves has gone in.  I  have stored them in the freezer, stored them in the fridge, both after soaking in gin!  I planted the first batch on the worst day and the rest on the best day (according to "Planting by phases of the moon".   We shall see.
Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I believe that bamboo socks are good but don't know if they keep your toes warm.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

My daughter wears socks from the Nordic Sock company, she quite frequently wears steel toe cap shoes and reckons these work.

Try googling 'electrically heated socks' - brings up a variety of offerings from the usual suspects, covering simple battery ones to rechargeables.

Quite popular as seasonal gifts for the winter paraglider/paramotor pilot in your life!
The Dales - probably fingerprint marks where God's hand touched the world

Thanks for those answers,
hamstergbert, I've bought and tried those socks and the only part not covered by the element is the toes which is the only part of my feet that get icily cold!
Cheers,  Tony.
