Fennel bulbs

Looking ahead, does anyone know the secret of how to get the fennel bulb to swell?

It swells all right I find, likes water.

More like how you stop the B&&&*rs from running to seed too fast.

I'm with Gobs on that one. Not managed to perfect that art as yet. Just when I think I have they go and bolt on me :roll:

stagger your sowings like every 3-4 weeks,if you sow them all at once they grow so big and bolt just for the fun of it

There was a load on this in the Grow Your Own section that Whiskey Golf did. You earth them up so no white is showing. Pick out the males and leave the females.
