We woke to a badly needed and unexpected sharp shower, but the sky is blue and beautiful now.  For the sake of the weekend fetes, festivals, teas, open gardens, weddings etc, I hope it stays this way.  But thunderstorms are forecast for later ...  I would  prefer gentle overnight rain and blue skies in the morning but my odds aren't good.

In the past hour, we've gone from bright skies to completely overcast, thunder and torrential rain, and now it's clearing again. Just as well, as there's a bouncy castle going up next door (birthday party).

Thunder storm here in Hampshire at approximately 6.00 AM fair amount of rain I reckon.

Big storm around Bournemouth in early hours. I got half a buttful...

Thunderstorm has just passed over us, dropped a pitiful amount of rain that dried up almost immediately, not enough to fill half a sand bucket, let alone a butt.

Cumbria is not renowned for its lack of rain but we'd had two months with only about five days of rain so today's heavy downpour was very welcome....even if it wasn't enough to fill all the water butts.
