ok seriously thinking about selling my cube and buying a doodle house. mainly because the cube is about as atractive as a biffa bin down the bottom of your garden  :(
anyway they are 695 new what a rip off hey???? mine is about 8 months old so I'm wondering what it's worth I didn't pay 695 for mine I got it before the price increase
I'm wondering if 500 is a fair price ?
please don't think im trying to sell it on the forum I'm not. Just wondered what is fair to ask

there is one on fleabay at the moment that is up to £460 and still has 7 days left before the bidding ends (it has had 2 bids). This one has a 3 metre run with it. Does yours have the run with it? if so what length. Without the run new they are £495, with a 2 metre they are £695 and with the 3 metre they are £795.
Remember the doodlehouse doesn't have a run and the small one is for only 3 hens the larger one is for up to 6. If you have the 2 metre run then yes that sounds like a fair price.
Didn't realise the cube now comes in different colours like the classic  :)

Glad you aren't trying to sell it on here as we would hate to remove you from the forum and the same for anybody who contacts you through the pm system to offer to buy it  :)

You could try selling it through the classified section - which is found at the top of the page  :D

Yeah it has the 2m run I'll stick with the 500 price tag.  I don't need a run with the doodle house as the birds just have the whole garden anyway. and I only have 3 hens so coop size isn't a problem but I would get the bigger one ready for 3 more when the girls retire and I need 3 more for eggs. I have an idea that a coop that can house 9 birds will work nicely on a 3 bird stock rotation system.

Yeah 5-6 is smaller than I would have liked but I could always use a 2 bird stock rotation system. We get more eggs than we need from 3 hens so 2 would be enough at any time. Or I could just man up and kill the birds that stop laying but I'd be happier letting them see out their days.
so it's decided sell cube buy big doodle  :)
now to tell mrs wolverine the new plan ha ha ha

hopefully she will agree with you (I don't cull my ex layers as I feel they deserve a retirement, and some don't live too long anyway  :(). Get that cube advertised on the classified section if Mrs W agrees to this but remember you need the new coop first otherwise the girls will have nowhere to live  :)

What's a doogle?

On my Grand Union Canal walk on Wednesday I saw a Cube in a rural setting and I have to agree they are extremely ugly and incongruous looking particularly when they have weathered a bit.  This one had an electric net run.  I took a photo so I could record how awful it looked. :tongue2:

Hope this wasn't yours

ooh it's the same pretty blue that my little eglu classic is (and it has no redmite in it either unlike my wooden coops  ;))
Actually now they do them in other colours I'm starting to like them - but still gonna stick with the recycled plastic arks so I can then sneak in a pig ark and hope Jimbo doesn't notice

Could be why they called it the 'cube'!!  I agree though, although bigger than the eglu, it does look a bit ugly stuck up in the air like that, but would be handy for old codgers like me who are having more trouble getting down on hands and knees!!!    :D

if you look on Preloved and eBay and other places for 2nd hand Eglu's most are going for around the £200.00 to £275.00 mark the Cube on the other hand seem to hold a higher rate around £450.00 plus. I have been looking into these for a broodie house and a breeding pens easy to move around and clean and store well and don't rot.

I have used my eglu classic as a broody house (you can buy the chick kit which fits over the slatted bars and plastic to fasten around the base of the run to stop the little ones from squeezing through). It worked very well  :).
I wouldn't use the cube as a broody coop nor any coop raised off the ground - I did and for the first week or so I had to lift the chicks in and out of the upper bit which they and the broody mum found a little bit distressing.
