in a cool cupboard with a room thermometer in it.

I think keep in them in the fridge effects the taste.

Alternatively you can keep them in a dark cupboard with a nurse in it.

Sorry but I'm going to have to declare this poll unscientific since the answer to where you keep your eggs is clearly a function of the balance between production vs consumption.  Keeping them in a bowl by the frying pan is not only a serious health risk (as too much frying isn't a good idea) but also isn't an option if you have over a dozen hens or so.  Also there's no point in keeping them in the fridge if you only have 4 or 6 hens and an average family.

So Wolverine you should make your choice based on your personal circumstances not what the average keeper (who is probably a small keeper) does on thiis thread!!!

At the moment, just to be awkward, I'm doing both! My 3 hens have been laying 3 eggs per day. I usually eat 2 of them for lunch - either scrambled or soft boiled and as its only a few hours til they get eaten I leave them on the work surface in the kitchen. Now I put the other 'spare' one in the fridge.

I was putting the spares in a basket for a couple of weeks and then hard boiled them for pickling (after water testing them for freshness), and then I gave 6 away to a friend. Now the ones in the fridge are being saved for hard boiling for salads. Once I have 6 waiting, and a couple in reserve in case I get a sudden urge to bake, then I might freeze the 'left over' egg or start collecting for pickling again! The options are endless! :D

Hadn't kicked off yet.  ;)

Now shhh... it's on.

Thanks for reminding me!

Just one HOT tip though, opening the fridge door 6 times to get to that 6 pack is roughly equivalent to adding half a dozen freshly laid warm eggs to it so to cancel out the effect ensure you add one warm egg at the same time as you get a beer during the match and you can ignore the science!
