Title: Bird flu
Post by: Selkie on December 30, 2007, 12:56
Is this still a problem in the UK? I can't find all the info that was in the other poultry section so does that mean it's all ok now?

It's OK here, at the moment. Russia, Poland, Germany are less happy. Sweden ordered all its poultry indoors, apparently.

Watched Sesame street, Fraggle Rock and of course Worzel Gummage with our children, think me and my hubby enjoyed it more than them. Animal was a favourite of mine.

There are still restriction zones in suffolk, but in other parts of the country, birds shows, auctions and stuff have started up again.  According to what I read on the DEFRA site last week.

I've put the Muppets version of 12 Days of Christmas on several times over the Christmas period.  I don't know how many times I've heard it, but Miss Piggy's Bah-dah-bump-bump bit continues to get me laughing.

PS i answer to Aunt Sally on a different post, the outbreaks in Dorset just up the coast from me.  As its been found in wild birds they are increasing vigilence in the estuarys. I'm a couple of miles from the Exe Estuary.  I would be gutted if I lost my girls but it must be a worrying time for those who livelihood depends on birds.
The weird thing is its wll gone very quiet, not much to report today.
