Whats the stuff you can water into your plot to keep the slugs down? :blush:

there is some here under nema slug but its probably not the best price

There's no real bargins to be had, no doubt as there's only one supplier, but you can save a couple of squid on ebay.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

There is a liquid slugkiller called Slugit. You water it over the plants and soil and is effective for up to 6 monthe. It will also kill slug/snail eggs. :D

There is a method which uses garlic and water but I cant remeber the spefifics, sorry

Thecheapest i can find nemaslug is £7.95 for one treatment but i haven't found slugit yet :happy:  ::)

Went on the B&Q website slugit is out of stock in all our local stores ::) ::) :dry: :closedeyes:

Having had a similar thread running on slugs and, having checked the price of copper rings-must keep organic!!-and as I've got loads of old copper pipe left from diy bodging, I'm going to solder odd lengths together to form approximate circles :ohmy:mind, I need lots of em to circle all my little babies ??? ???

Given the price - is it better than normal pellets? I realise it lasts longer but do you not just get slugs from areas that have not been treated?

Iam a newcomer to allotments so i don't know which is best method, but i'm open to any suggestion. I thought if i sprayed the plot it would be one thing less to worry about :nowink: :closedeyes:

Pellets are only eaten by the surface slugs. The liquid slug killer or nematodes kill slugs under the surface as well.
Nematodes carry on working for about 6 weeks and after the that the slug population gradually returns to normal  :(
