Parsnips.
« on: September 06, 2013, 09:21 »
I set my parsnips off in toilet rolls in late February. I can't remember when I planted them out, but they have got lots of foliage and the crowns seeem to be doing ok, if a little deep down. The main foliage has suddenly turned brown and looks well manky. However they are throwing some lovely new happy foliage from the centres. As a newcomer to parsnips, is this normal. They are Avonreister.

Mine do that every year, though I never checked for any infestation and yes, the leaves do grow back again without any detriment to the 'snip.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
