Title: I'm in the Mail on Sunday (about LPG Gas )
Post by: John on April 29, 2018, 20:42
A couple of years ago I wrote up my experience with LPG gas suppliers on my Low Cost Living site: Save Money On LPG - How I saved £1,000 on our LPG gas (http://www.lowcostliving.co.uk/1331/save-money-on-lpg-how-we-saved-over-1000-on-our-gas-supply/)
Anyway, it was picked up by the Mail on Sunday who interviewed me and sent a photographer round. If you're on LPG do read it - you could be paying far more than you need to.
Am I paying too much for LPG? Rural households see gas costs double | Daily Mail Online (http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/money/article-5669741/Are-held-ransom-suppliers-price-LPG.html)

Well done John :)we had a range rover converted to LPG when the gas was about 40p per litre, but the conversion on the engine was £1500 sadly we don't have the 4x4 any more.
The problem with LPG here on Anglesey is the lack of garages that have it .
That is the only item we have had with.

Mr S pointed this out to me... spotted your name in the article. As you say, haggling is the name of the game!

I've had loads of comments on my article basically saying that people didn't realise they even could swap suppliers. Frankly the attitude of the suppliers stinks. I understand that their costs may differ (it's delivered by lorry) due to distance from the depot and that it is more expensive than piped gas but they use this as and excuse to screw people.
A lot of people in the countryside have LPG heating - moving to oil will cost about £3K and a heat pump (best option) around £7K
