Rosie our cat was born behind our sofa about 10 yrs ago together with her brother Jim, Jim and her mother were both poisoned so we were left with her on her own, the reason she was not poisoned also is that she is a home loving cat and did not leave the garden.

A few days ago she came in and her eye was sore and she had a lump on her head.  The vet said she may have an abscess behind her eye and gave her antibotics.  Yesterday it was weeping badly so we took her back and they kept her in to see what they could do and the blood test told them that she has an under active thyroide so they cannot operate.

As she is eating well I am hoping that the antibotics will kick in and that she does not have something more serious, poor little thing looks as if she will lose the sight in that eye.

Its so sad when our little ones get sick isnt it. My hubby is very poorly at the moment, he has a bad case of shingles, PLUS, he had his flu jab just before he was diagnosed with shingles which perhaps wasnt such a good idea, consequently he has been running a very high temperature for the last couple of days. Now, I can cope with that, the moaning, the sleepless nights with him shivering beside me in bed, the nursing duties etc, but if one of my moggies or my goats or even one of my chooks is even slightly off colour, I worry like mad. I really hope that little Rosie makes a swift and full recovery, and we are sending big hugs and very warm wishes to you from France.

Hi all,
I am pleased to report that Rosie is fightig fit and eating like a horse.  She was always like a bag of bones and I think the neighbours thought I starved her.  Since having the tablets for her thyroid condition she is packing on the pounds and looks great.
