Title: Turkeys
Post by: GTFC197 on May 07, 2012, 13:23

Similar, but turkey poults need more heat until they are 5 weeks old than chicks do.  That is their most vulnerable time.

And of course they need more room.  They can be more brutal to each other than chickens are, but are very intelligent, and can still fly even when they weigh a lot!  :) :)

Hi Mick, yes, just replied to your PM.  Sorry I didn't get back on here last night!  Too exhausted after feeding the family and trying to keep the children occupied!

It was lovely meeting you, Babs and Emma too Mick.  After you went, I managed to get the rest of my little cabbages in before it turned windier!

Great to meet like minded people, and ones that are younger than us, so that the old ideas don't die off!

I'll let you know when the turkey poults are in and you can come and meet them!   :D
