I stumbled across this today and thought I would share as I thought it looked pretty good.  No idea how sturdy it would be after a season out in our weather, but its a nice recycling idea and one I have never seen before:

I've just got rid of all my cases as my collection was taking up too much room - just think of what I could have built

I have to say that it's a great novelty idea, but is it practical? It would take an age to make, it's over designed for something intended just to be used.

Is the plastic in CD cases UV stabilised? I don't know, but if it's not it'll be a pile of brittle plastic at the end of the year.

Looks good though, better than I could do!

It's amazing what people think up isn't it. I've seen a bottle one on a tv garden show & then at a garden show,looks alot of work,but I bet it works well.

I've seen those. The jewel case one is a great idea, but I agree, how practical for strength, UV, etc..?

When I was at uni a very long time agao, a couple made their house walls out of wine bottles set in concrete --- not a oatch on that amzing eco house shown in cadalot's link

I think the plastic bottle ones are fab and even considered making one myself - only to find out they weren't allowed at our site  spoilsports!

I'm thinking less plastic bottle greenhouse - more plastic bottle cloche as they should be a little more fox resistant  my plan is to make frames like I did with the leaf compost bins  but to cover with plastic bottles and not mesh.

I think you're missing the point of the novelty and challenge value.. Of course sheeting would be easier!
