Pre Holiday Tips

Right I will start off with check online on your Airport website for Food and Drink offers.  They often have vouchers you can print off.  I have managed to get vouchers for 2 breakfasts for £10 or 2 hot meals for £10 and another one for buy a hot flatbread and get a bottle of water free.  Always worth a look to see what is on offer.   :D

Holidays are necessary.
I almost stop eating to pay for my holiday - anything to be able to have a bit of guaranteed sunshine and heat :D

Choose a holiday you can take without having to set foot near an airport or on a plane. Great for the carbon footprint. :D

I work 335 days a year from February to December 7 days a week come January I go backpacking.

I have been to some fantastic places for very little money as long as you don't mind very basic accommodation!(when I say basic I mean basic)

The one thing I have found is that flights are a lot cheaper if you are happy to fly on a Tuesday/ Wednesday or Thursday . Any don't forget to ask for the hot seats when you book in if you or your partner are overly tall as most times you can change seats to get more leg room
Sometimes you have to accept that somedays you are the pigeon and somedays you are the statue!

It is our first flight in four years so have been carbon offsetting to save up enough points to neutralise our carbon footprint!

Another thing I do is stop using toiletries when they have enough in for the holiday.  That way I don't have to bring them back, works great with roll on deodorant and things like shaving gel.  I save the little hair dye bottles for things like shampoo and they are just enough for a holiday.   ;)

If you are flying with RYANAIR for the first time:

Make sure you understand their 'RETURN FLIGHT BOARDING PASS' policies. (google it)

Our e-mail correspondence with them was less than clear regarding these passes – and we hadn't printed them off – so they very kindly did this at the airport for us – and charged us €60 each.

Tens of thousands of unaware people have been stung this way.

They will also charge you €40 if you do not book your luggage on line, and €20 per kilo over 15 kilo.

Thanks for that one superpete, duly noted.

Another one is to save up the little containers that pop together.  Some come with gloves for hairdying, some in Kinder eggs etc.  These are ideal for taking your medication in rather than a large bottle of tablets.   ;)
