was wanting to hatch some duck eggs and my friend has a broody hen. however she has been broody for a fortnight now.
so the Q is really if i decided to borrow her and stick fertile eggs under her will she sit for the duration till hatching, another 28 days? bit worried that she would give up too soon!

there is only one way to find out - so sit the eggs next to her and if she slides them under her chances are she will be ok. Just make sure you take her off the eggs a couple of times a day for her to eat, drink, poop and stretch

would moving her from my friends farm to mine be too upsetting for her?

It could unsettle her.
You would be best after a few days of leaving her with the eggs under her:-
then move her into a broody coup along with the eggs -
then see if she settles in that for a few days -
and then transport her shut inside the coup carefully down to your place.
Don't try to rush this process or she may get off the eggs, either that or leave her at the farm for her to hatch there.

thanks so much, either way will need to build a brooder, so could try her in it at my friends and then move her later inside the brooder.
