I currently have Burpless Tasty Green growing in the green house its says its an outdoor variety, will it cause any problems if i grow in the greenhouse?

Hi Barrowboy - it will probably be too warm in your greenhouse for the BTG. Can you transfer it outdoors after hardening it off. If kept in the green house it will get stressed and just not thrive (and most cukes are just looking for an excuse to keel over and die).

the main reason for outdoor growing is this variety needs pollination, which may be a problem if grown inside

This is interesting as for many years mine have always been indoors without problems, I always whitewash the glass so to reduce the intensity of the sun, the cukes are in bottom-less pots so I never have to water around the stem, as regards pollination, both the door and window during summer is always open, in fact both cukes I grow are classed as outdoor, crystal apple and Burps tasty, I give hundreds of cukes away each year.
The main thing with them is to makes sure as I mentioned the stem never gets wet.
Here is a piccy of one of the tubs last year of the set up, these were Crystal apple..

My Burp Tasty are in a bed which runs along the length of the greenhouse.
Again, first there is around 6 inches of rotted cack, then compost on top, as you can see I water around the outside and also in the bottles so the top of the compost is always dry.

As mumsie was pointing out, the bottles are they so the water goes down to the roots, I did drill holes in the cap etc, one of the biggest problems with cukes is stem rot, if you just water around the stem you will probably kill it.

We had a go at outdoor cucumbers here last year - nothing ventured etc - and found it was far too cold for them when all but one plant died. It thrived indoors so we're doing the same this year.
