Fruit on my potatoe plants.
« on: August 18, 2019, 11:54 »
I get fruit on my potatoe plants in late summer. I know they are poisonous and should not be eaten. But does anybody know if they can be composted or left to rot in the ground?

I just leave them on the plants, and clear the foliage to the compost heap, if it hasn't all dried off to nothing, when I harvest the potatoes. I've never seen them grow, even in the compost.

Thanks for that Lesley.  When the rain stops I will get back out there and carry on digging them up.  :D
