Anyone know what this is?

Hi all, my friends daughter brought this home from school and has no idea what it is.

My best guess is an allium of some description.

Any ideas?

When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

I may be well off but it does look a little like a young ginger plant

Gently rub a finger on the leaf and see what it smells like.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I could convince myself that the label said 'Lilia', so alium.
Grow lights for early germination;
Blow away on NE facing terrace for hardening off;
Small potager 90sq.m at 300metres
No-dig method, intensive planting and incorporating permaculture principles.
