I picked up a packet of these in Lidl France and now need to put them in my allotment plan.  Mr Google is a bit divided about whether they are trailing courgettes - that I could grow up a fence like I do the squashes and cucumbers - or just leggy bush plants which wouldn't work so well that way and need a reasonable ground patch.

Anyone grown them and can give me a better idea of what they need?

Although they are listed as separate varieties, they could be either the same or very similar to Courgette di Nizza, which I bought a few years ago from Lidl UK.

If so, they are reasonably compact and extremely prolific - too much really because they're a bit bland (even by courgette standards) even if you manage to pick a few before they turn into giant, round courgette-marrows!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I grew some last year, from Johnson's  'Taste of France' range. Grew as a reasonable sized standard trailing courgette, same size as my All Green Bush. Very productive though, ended up giving a fair few away.

How weird, mine collapsed a bit sideways, like a thick stem that couldn't hold itself upright, but it certainly didn't trail so that you could train it onto a trellis.
Google translates my packet as

Zucchini Ronde de Nice - Fruit Round is a non-run variety

I definitely couln't have trained it up a trellis, like you say MoS, it just grew a little ways to one side.

Very tasty though stuffed with Bacon, onion, red peppers and topped with a nice bit of melted cheese :D

Okay ... so it needs the ground space.  Good for the plan ...  and thanks for the recipe idea!

I still have 2 marrows left in store.  And I'm not counting the squashes ....  do I need more courgettes?
