jam pans and electric hobs

At the moment i have a gas cooker but when we go into our bungalow it will be electeric so am i going to need a new pan or can i use the ordinary one i have.

If it's an induction hob it needs to be a ferrous pan, i.e. one that has iron in it such as cast iron or stainless steel. You can check by putting a magnet to the pan and see if it "pulls". If not you can buy an induction converter cookware disc whish just sits on the cooker ring with your normal pan on top.
If it's a conventional electric hob, then your pan will be fine.

19cm converter for 14.95 from Tesco Direct, then you can use your normal pans.

Thanks for the info glad to hear i can get a converter my pand stainless steel, the hob im not sure of as its in a different house and we may need a new one by the time we get in our bungalow , its rented out .
but i love my pan i will have to come and use sons cooker ,gas .
