This year we've got a problem in that some cherries have small white maggots in them. Other growers also seem to be affected in the area. The only thing I've found when researching is western fruit fly, but not sure that that is what they are. Haven't had the problem before, but it is ruining the experience of eating our lovely cherries. Any clue as to what they are and how to prevent next year? Don't want to spray as I keep bees.
The only winners are the chickens who get the maggotty cherries as a treat!
