Weed Suppressant

Having struggled with an over-population of rampant weeds in the past, this year i tried something quite simple, and i must say it was very successful, for the area between rows of crops ie onions and beetroot, i laid builders plastic DPC

In this case 300mm wide which was perfect for any crop that needed a 12" spacing, to keep it in place i filled old milk bottles with water, these came in quite handy when the crop needed watering, saved lugging water about.

Yes Mum, i have used it in the past but i have found that this is much more effective, we have some really vicious weeds up here that can grow through anything except DPC. Haven't come across Knotweed yet though.

It has been in use 2 seasons now, no sign of breaking down.
