Nope, far too early up here.

Most people wait until St Patrick's Day.  Me, I wait until Good Friday  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

I didn't get around to putting any in my greenhouse this year, so the first bunch will be going in out of doors in exactly 2 weeks. Mild weather down here has to be taken advantage of, it's the Cornish way. Tarry too long and even the earlies might catch blight at the other end.
With a smallish crop, it's far easier to cover for the very odd overnight May frost, than to protect against the devil later on. It looks like the soil may be drying out soon, with much drier weather looming for most of us next week.

Put a couple of swifts in bags in the GH last weekend - worked out ok last year -
Will probably plant out on the plot in a couple of weeks. Pretty mild here - I'm only doing first earlies this year because of blight and the space spuds take up...

Thinking of prepping the ground for some Swift next weekend.  They have chitted well and are ready for the off.  I plant mine deep and never earth up as a result, works for me.  Rest will go in at the end of March.  Mind you we still have loads from last year to use up!

Threads like this show why it's so relevant for people to put their general location into their profile  :)

Planting dates will vary hugely between the south west and the north east  :D

Mind you we still have loads from last year to use up!

I still have some to dig up

Out tyre stacks are ready to plant potatoes for which I have some ready to go in. They are easy to cover over when frost is predicted. Going to hang off for a couple of weeks to see what the weather is doing.
Everything spotty....

i've not even got any seeds chitting yet. trying not to rush everything this year, i've still got plenty of main crop left in storage so no point risking loosing seed to rotting if there's no need.

No chance!

Far too wet and cold yet, and all that cultivating to do as well!

Plenty of time until a real spring day...

I usually put just a row of earlies in any time from mid-March. The rest wait until the end of the month or a bit later according to soil conditions. The early row will probably need protecting from frost in May but with luck the later ones will not be up enough to hurt.

I put my first earlies (Golden Nugget) in on the 10th of Feb, and my salad ones (Juliette) on the 12th.
Sometimes it is better to keep your mouth shut and be suspected of knowing nothing than opening it and proving it.

Over the years I got fed up with earthing up / putting fleece & lawn mowings over the plants to keep the frost off, so I plant late now.

I planted 6 bags a week or 10 days ago for the early earlies, and I will plant half a dozen or so outside "reasonably early" to provide continuity, but the rest will be planted as late as is sensible so I don't have to try to keep the frost off them.

I don't plant spuds in the ground until Easter as the ground is still cold, currently 4c,  but I will have some grow earlies in large buckets in either the greenhouse or PT

Easter varies between 22 March to 25 April .... lot of difference in temperatures between those dates as they are a month apart.  Good Friday / Easter seems to perpetuate as a planting date for spuds though ...

I think I might try putting out a row of Red duke of York next weekend and earth up and cover them with fleece and the rest of my Premier in in about 3 weeks.
