Rolet from moles seeds.

Its an F1 but I've got 30 fruit from 3 plants. Small round fruit just ripened (yesterday). Perfect for an individual portion, I chop the top off, scoop out the seeds, put a bit of butter & black pepper then microwave.

They easily kept until Christmas last year ( then I'd eaten them all).

I've grown Cobnut, and it probably ticks the boxes, other than "crops well" ... I would have said "crops well enough", but I won't have given them a lot of TLC so if someone else tells you that they crop heavily go with that :)

I've not been so successful with Black Futsu but I'd definitely go along and recommend Red Kuri (aka Potimarron or Uchiki Kuri) and Thelma Sanders.  Another successful one has been Celebration (a bush type which is even better)  Last year I grew Blue Hubbard which was very nice and not too big.

I've found Golden Nugget (bush type) crops and stores well.

In fact, I still have some from last year on the kitchen window sill!   ::)  Not sure what they're like inside, as I think I'd need an angle grinder to get into them now...

We are growing a butternut squash called Harrier F1.  It is small, early, prolific and very tasty.

I grow that one every year - they are quite small, but very reliable  :)

New ones that I will be trying next year, are Black Futsu (I hope it likes it here BabbyAnn  )
Autumn Crown, Burgess Vine Buttercup and Twonga.
Wish me luck!

I have grown Burgess Vine Buttercup MoS and liked it a lot.   Medium sized fruit rather than small (it's slightly bigger than Thelma Sanders).

Autumn Crown, Burgess Vine Buttercup and Twonga.
Wish me luck!

I usually have no problems with growing winter squashes but I found the batch of Black Futsu seed I bought poor at germinating and seemed to struggle to grow, the only one to go anywhere was a sickly weedy vine with just one rather mishapened fruit which unfortunately rotted before I had chance to taste it  ::)  The other sowings to finish the packet off the year after yielded no fruit at all so I gave up.  The skin had a weird rubbery feel to it.

Autumn Crown - grows well and prolific but I was disappointed with the flavour.  I think I prefer the "rich" or more nutty ones like the Kabocha and Crown Prince, but each to their own  ;)

Burgess Vine Buttercup - lovely, you won't be disappointed

Twonga - ooooh, that's on my shopping list for next year too  :D

To add to the list, I enjoyed Blue Kuri but being another Kabocha type squash is hardly surprising LOL and was easy to grow.

I've grown a spaghetti squash this year, Like this. Four plants have made 4 large ones and 6 or 7 medium sized ones.

I've grown the spagetti squash as well and have some massive fruits, but can't recommend it until I see how it tastes. I've heard the flavour is not that great, but will look for some recipes to utilise it. May just bake, cut in half and fill with bolognese sauce :D

Cook them whole shred the inside out with a fork - it looks a bit like spaghetti.................serve with any pasta sauce.

It's ok smothered with cheese - but then everything is
