Great stuff.

Another solution might be a device that generates short high voltage pulses similar to an electric fence.

If anyones using a car battery though, I `d make sure it`s fused - any accidental shorts and it could all go up in smoke.

Should cook the snails to a tee though ;)

That's a snail - slugs live in the soil and will come up through the bed  ;)

 I use a nine volt on my lettuce bed. Which gives them a good zap. a 12 volt should work even better.

There's two wires one to the positive and one to negative which are first stapled  to the raised bed about an inch apart the wires to the battery are sleeved so they don't short circuit the only time they connect is when a slug passes over the two wires.

Now a member of the 10 Ton club.... 2013  harvested 588 Kg from 165 sq mt..

Easy done, I had to watch it a couple of times first. You still need to be careful with battery's they can give you a zap.
