What to gro with Soya beans?
« on: July 17, 2008, 18:08 »
Hi,

I'm as new as a newbie new thing to all this growing malarky!

Largely, well completely, down to the influence of my partner we have grown Tomatoes (ate the first one today! :D ) and Chillies (doing OK, but the flowers have started to fall off? A few fruits have started but now most flowers open and then fall off? over watering maybe?) We have just planted out our Ustie Soya Plants in a raised border but have room for another small crop of something. I was thinking Sweetcorn but does anyone know if this would or wouldn't work?

Any suggestions very welcome!!

Thanks

Mick

It's probably a bit late to be starting sweetcorn from scratch, and you need quite a few plants, planted in a block, to have a reasonable chance of germination.

This late in the season, perhaps some dwarf beans, or salad of some sort if you're growing from seed and wanting to harvest this summer.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
