What are you planning to grow for the first time in 2008?

For me it is Black kale and some winter heading cauliflowers. Plan is to have cauliflower ready for harvest every month ..... we shall see.....

I've got some Jersey walking stick cabbage to try.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Purple Kale, a Bay tree that was given to me, some fruit bushes that were given which is exciting as I don't know what they are!  Trying squash again as it failed this year so technically first time, different beans (apart from runners and broad) and mangetout.

Kale again, but not first ever, but in many years, because this year I intend to hunt down some proper size curly kale seed to grow again, rather than those runt dwarf curly kale sold everywhere these days.

Every thing on my plot really!!  Though technically I have grown most things before they have been in my garden so different conditions and am trying different varieties of everything, except the peas coz they were gorgeous last year so why try something else?!  And am trying greenhouse growing for the first time too, once I get it cleaned up and dug over anyway!

David - you just haven't been trying hard enough - these are my 'dwarf' curly kale this afternoon (T&M Borecole - dwarf green curled):

I'm trying Italian Cavolo kale for the first time - its in seed trays at the moment just ready to plant out in the next few days.

Trying lots of new varieties of favourite veg I've grown before, but also trying caulifowers, garlic, French beans and purple sprouting broccoli for the first time. Oh, and I'm very excited about growing silverskin pickling onions and gherkin cucumbers this year!

I tried gherkins for the first time last year. It was the slugs that got excited & scoffed the plants. Must try again.

Hey Shaun, thanks for the link for Potato days, I have been looking for a venue close to my home in Cheshire with no success.

I see that there is one at the Gordale Nursery near Chester. Did you go to the last weekend that they held in January this year? If so what was it like?
Once again thanks for the link.
