iv not long planted some onions and cabbages and have noticed some of the leaves on the cabbages have been munched  >:( i have raised beds and was wondering what i could do to stop them getting to the leaves??

slug pellets (there are organic ones).
Midnight torch sessions and feed them to the chickens
As it's brassicas you could put some lime across the bed slugs don't like it much.
Come the spring you could try nematodes, but whilst they're very effective on the underground slugs they do little against the above ground ones...

Try beer traps, i know some people say they atract slugs but in my experience so do cabbage etc and slugs prefare beer. If you go out for a meal or drink just ask the bar staff to fill a lemonade bottle or two with left-overs or slop's.
Then feed them to chickens if you have them,lol

Is it definately slugs. Have you seen them at work?

On my site pigeons are the number one offenders at this time of year and you may need to net.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

or caterpillars we have hundreds still!
3 dogs, 8 chickens, 4 rabbits 2 guinea pigs, 10 quail, 2 fish and a demanding daughter who has gone to uni and left me with 29 animals to care for!!=)

i havent seen the slugs but i did buy a net because i am getting alot of pigeons having a go at them and it seems to be still happening so i assumed it must be slugs??
