I had one of those in my garden. Elephant hawk moth caterpillar

Agree. Elephant Hawk Moth, fantastic animal.

Thankyou! I have 3 of them currently eating weeds so happy for them to stay :) in fact I stopped weeding... They are quite magnificent to look at, and the kids like them :)

I found one this morning walking down our drive. I think it has been feeding on the fuchsias  :D

Yes  I agree ,that's what I found  2 munching on my fuchsias last year .Not seen any this year tho' and the moth is quite interesting too.
