fruit tree care
« on: August 29, 2016, 09:07 »
I have bought 3 apple trees and 2 plum trees, they are dwarf root stock.
My question is do i have to appy any thing to them to stop creatures getting to them during the winter,am i right in thinking glue bands?.
I have planted them in large pots, they are in a sheltered spot away from the band winds we get in the winter.

I've been looking myself this morning.  ::)

I didn't get on with grease bands when I tried them. Last year I bought some Vitax Winter Tree wash and sprayed but I've had problems this year with caterpillars and something small damaging the leaves on the apples although no sign of aphids.

There doesn't appear to be a whole lot of choice available.  :(
