Medlar help

I stumbled across a medlar tree on my travels I acquired about a kg of medlars. Ive never bletted anything and really can't be bothered because I'll forget about them or the rats will get them.

Can I throw them straight into a pan strain and the reheat and add sugar?

Or can I freeze then do the above?
