Banty with closed eyes

Poor girl found today just outise the hutch, both eyes apparantly stuck closed.  Bathed with warm water and they are now open but look swollen and puffy.  ? infection :ohmy:  any advice on further care will be most welcome... thanks :)

hello BarnyOwl, a very good idea bathing in warm salty water.Its sounds like a form of sinusitis -chickens have sinuses under the eye which get infected with certain respiratory problems like coryza or mycoplasma. Although at this stage sounds more like coryza or sinus.I would pop her along to the vet, who will probably prescribe some antibiotics(baytril) and maybe eye ointment.
Keep a close eye on other symptoms, like bubbles from the eye, discharge from nostrils or any "panting". Apple cider Vinegar is a good tonic for upper respiratory problems, plus bung a crushed garlic clove in their water if you have any hanging around.
