Title: Hen Houses
Post by: Digger the Dog on March 20, 2018, 10:39
I have seen some plastic Hen Houses
Are they any good?
Does anyone have experience of using them?
I am told that they are resistant to Red Spider Mite which may be a good thing

Help! Advice please! :)

I have an Eglu classic and run -  not cheap, but they are very well made and you do see them second hand sometimes.  They are very good for just a couple of hens.

I also have a larger coop from Green Frog, which is more basic, but still sturdy and has all they need.  I already had a walk-in run for it to go in and they are good value if you want a bigger size in housing.

Both are very easy to clean and I have had no red mites in either.  If you did, you could take either apart, clean them thoroughly and get them dry and back together the same day.    I wouldn't go back to wooden housing now  :)

We've got the Omlet Eglu Cube and also wouldn't go back to wooden houses. John has written a review on them here: The Omlet Eglu Cube Review ? Plastic Chicken Coop for 10 Chickens (http://www.chickens.allotment-garden.org/equipment/poultry-housing/omlet-eglu-cube-review/)
