Checked on the seedlings, made a mental note of what needs weeding tomorrow and harvested the first rhubarb of the year!

Dug over and weeded half of final large bed then OH rotovated it. If dry day tomorrow then will finish digging and weeding.
Four in total since I put paths in plus strawberry bed and fruit bushes. Plot much more managable.
OH rotovated bed I had already dug and weeded.

Planted the rest of the spuds.  Brought 10 of my tomato plants up to the PT I will plant them tomorrow (I have loads of spares so can well afford these to fail).  The soil is drying out lovely and today is to be warm and sunny so off up to plant up as much as I can before tomorrow’s rain.

Lovely sunny day here so managed to spent 4 hours at plot.
Planted all my potatoes finally and covered with my rabbit poo and straw.
Planted desiree and international kidney and had already managed to plant charlottes a few weeks ago.
Finished the bed from yesterday so now another whole bed done. Had been covered with the rabbit poo and straw and the ground was lovely and crumbly to dig and weed. This bed will have my peas and beans and also my squash and pumpkins which I need to sow at home  ;)
Have the other half of my potato bed to dig so heading back tomorrow to finish.
Raspberries are a bit overgrown so need weeding and am going to renew path around them as full of weeds growing through. Plan to do that tomorrow too.
Busy day planned and feeling so much happier with plot.  :)

Spent 3 hours on the plot in eternal conflict over working outside the 29c tunnel or in the 9c (minus windchill) outdoors.

Got tons of weeding done really bulking out my compost heap. Also found that a discarded currant bush I dug out last Winter is still alive so I'll have to find a new home for it. Turned the compost heap and discovered a handsome slow worm living in the bottom of the heap, moved him to safety before I finished turning the pile.

Finished digging last bit of yesterdays bed.
Pulled up weed fabric path around raspberries, full of holes, weeds and raspberry roots  ;)
Dug up weeds and hard going pulling up roots  ;)
Levelled soil and made new weed fabric path right around raspberry bed which hopefully will keep it contained  :D
Planted my white and red onions and garlic. Bit late but ground only been ready to dig and rotovate for past week or so.
Started making wigwams ready for peas and sugar snap peas which are outside and ready to plant.
Planning sowing french beans tomorrow and broccoli and chit sweetcorn.

Yesterday I bought 6 x 70 litre bags of bark & added it to the fruit cage on top some membrane I added to the bare bits of earth where I’d had the green Johanna compost bin, looked good. Weeded inbetwee a few slabs too.

Finally dug the last small piece of the big plot.  That is the last job to tick off my winter list ... and its only 5th May  ::)

Planted out modules of beetroot, lots of different cabbage and some calendula.  Then came home and potted on tomatoes and dwarf sunflowers and planted up my herb pots for round the back door - parsley, celery leaf, tarragon and summer savory  :)

Planted out toms in the tunnel bed, planted spring onions into one of the containers. Sowed some Raab broccolli into the brassica bed.
Got a nice suprise when a plot neighbour brought me 9 bags of garden waste so the compost heap is nice and big now and the thermometer says it's hitting 60c in the middle :D
Everything is suddenly growing at megaspeed, i love this time of year!

Busy and productive day with OH helping  :)
Picked up another builders sack of rabbit poo and bedding.
OH rotovated another finished bed and we covered some of it with poo. This bed has peas and beans and will be for my pumpkins, squash and courgettes aswell.
Have small part of potato bed left to dig and rotovate and bit left under black plastic to dig.
Whole plot best I have ever had it in 5 years  :D
Last year was easier after buying rotovator but took on whole plot so never really caught up with new half as was neglected.
Was behind this year but with the better weather and lots of visits, making paths and having supply of rabbit poo and wood chippings for paths, have caught up.
Also we visited local garden centre as offer on of 5 grow bags for £10 and 5 bags of jacks magic for £16  :D
Potting up tomatoes tomorrow in greenhouse and sowing lots with pots freed up.

Put up a large net tunnel, then planted out greens, Supasweet onions grown from seed and some nasturtiums.  Built a bean frame and a couple of wigwams from canes.   OH arrived and did a load of strimming as well.

Came home and did another shunt from greenhouse to cold frame.  Set off some more modules of beetroot, Nipper leeks and Erbette to get going.  Got loads of beans sown - soy beans, climbing beans to eat fresh, dwarf beans to eat fresh and the climbing drying beans.  The greenhouse is now full again, but if space clears, I have some dwarf drying beans to squeeze in somewhere.
