Naming pedigree heifers
« on: June 27, 2012, 12:38 »
We all want to get a good price for the stock we sell and i have found that a name that sort of clicks with the buyers- along with  good breeding of course- does help, it shouldn't but it does seem to. ::)

My best sellers have had female name song titles for their pedigree name.

I've had a Maggie May, Ruby Tuesday, Lovely Rita, Elona Rigby. :)

Can anyone think of any more :) I need 2 for this years heifer calves :)

Brilliant argyllie

How did i not think of Billie Jean, Peggy Sue and Dear Prudence, all great  Made a note of them all.  Not sure about Mustang Sally, might give the wrong impression :D

So might Runaround Sue,but you never know, i might get one that it suits. But on second thoughts I'd probably keep quiet about it :D

Oh dear, some really good ones.  Its getting hard to choose ::)

I'm waiting for Bonnie Girl to calve whos due a heifer this year, so i'll need a possible 3 names. I'll have to make a short list and post pics of the little ones and you can all help me pick the names.

I'm writing them all in the back of the herd book for future years so keep them coming.
