Thank you so much Kate.  I will now explain the photos.

Photo one is me on Chicory, really nauhty now  as that was back in the age when it didnit matter what you wore.  Chic is now 36.

Photo two is Jane who now look s after my horses in return for keeping her two there with Cassius who is New Forest Pony. He is now 34.

Picture three are our Shetlands who my two daughters learnt to ride on, the one at the back is Cookie (now deceased) with Laura and the one at the front is Theseus who is at least 39.

The final picture is Bad Harry who I inherited when my Dad died.   Dad rode his horse Troggs round then lanes  and spoke to Harry in his field. The lady who owned him them asked my Dad if he could help them with regard to the farrier.  They then offered him to my Dad who refused him for nothing but would only accept a pound.

I am in floods of tears .

Some memories there, Wighty, hope you don't mind, but I've had a quick go at restoration on one of them, but I think it needs a bit of work on the colour balance!

Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks DD. for 'tarting' me up.  At least you didn't 'air brush' out the bad bits.  The photo is  rather 'tatty' now but as I've already said, it does go everywhere with me.

Oh wighty, I am a bit tearful today anyway (missing Hubby) so your photos really set me off.

Beautiful photos.  Were they taken on the IoW?  I have to say - the Island is my favourite place in the entire world.  My grandparents lived there (in Binstead, near Ryde) and I spent every summer holiday of my childhood there.  I adore the place, won't have a word said against it and go back there at every opportunity.  My last trip was with my sister, with our children.  It was an emotional journey for us.

I have some very very happy memories of horse-riding on the Island as a child (in fact, I don't think I've ever ridden a horse anywhere else).  Yours look like they were equally happy.

Going off to find a tissue - tears plopping on the keyboard!  :D

Really beautiful animals considering their age. That all horses should be so lucky to having such loving owners. My own sister had an old circus horse that she rode in gymkahanas and won a lot of awards for her. Can't remember how old that horse was but he was very old and nearly broke her heart when he finally died so I know what you feel for your maned friends.
