First time for me this year so don't know what to expect.

When would you expect them to break the surface in your location?

Buttercups flower here in May time....they're through the ground already spotted a patch today growing away quite the thing.  :(

Buttercups are a speciality of the house, but their mollycoddled cousins are a new plant for me.  I remember my mum growing them in Orkney but - believe it or not - Orkney gets far fewer frosts than many other places in Scotland.  Nowhere in Orkney is more than 3 miles from the sea.
