Hamsters, a glass that is the correct size for the amount of liquid thus contained depends on the view of the drinker when they spill some. Pessimists will whinge and moan about losing 50p's worth, whereas an optimist will think - hey, there's room for some more!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

I paid £4.10 for a pint of bitter recently, and realised that that was what I earned in a whole week back in 1965...

Glasses are always half-full here, mainly because we always top up at the slightest sign of malnutrition and dire thirst!

A man in Australia did, I believe... but the patent quietly lapsed/was cancelled when someone realised IIRC

I thought the answer to the question was answered in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy although Paul and I now can't remember the answer! We can't agree whether it was 7 or 47.

That's the answer to 'the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything'. The 'total perspective vortex' showed those put into it  how big the universe was, and hence how insignificant they were with their mind being destroyed by the enormity of it the normal end result. Zaphod Beeblebrox is the only known survivor of the vortex......

Your puncture-ation leaves a lot to be desired Hamsters! Perhaps it would be best to have a spin down to your local hostelry (preferably with at least one Michelin star) but better brace yourself for an inflated price or you'll have to catch the inner-tube home.  :D
