Dehydrated Onions
« on: July 25, 2018, 11:47 »
After pulling me onions up and several having the start of the dread fly I decided to have a go at dehydrating them for use in sausages etc.
So here are my main points to bear in mind if you ever think of doing this...

1. Never ever ever dry them in the house, they stink rotten to start with.

2. 12 ish hours later they smell deeeevviiiinnnneeee and you will be soo hungry.

3. upon munching a few bits I fell in love, they are sweet with a really nice concentrated flavour, well worth doing, in fact I am going to dry another batch .

I just sliced them to about 5mm thick and then laid them on the drier tray.
Punk isn't dead...it's underground where it belongs. If it comes to the surface it's no longer punk...it's Green Day!
