I've succeeded in getting 8 Spacemaster cucumber seedlings germinated and grown on to a size almost ready for planting outside.
I've seen conflicting opinions as to whether they prefer full sun or can cope with some shade.

I have a patch of ground near an apple tree - good soil, sun in the morning, dappled shade in the afternoon. I'm hoping this will be suitable?

They don't mind some shade through the hottest part of the day, so  morning sun and light shade in the afternoon would be just perfect IMO

Agree, that area sounds fine for growing cucumbers.
Just make sure you harden them off before planting. The most vulnerable time and part of the cucumber is at ground level when transplanting. So do not saturate the ground too much as the base of the plant can become weak.

Not heard of that variety before, they look to be more for small gardens, pots and hanging baskets as they only grow as few feet high, but it mentions that they spread well and are good croppers, which be honest is true for any cucumbers I have ever grown.
