wow! only one of my tomatoes germinated and it's still tiny, my sweetcorn is just showing, but it'll be another 3/4 weeks before it can go out anyway so it'll be alright

have you done the parsnips like that before?  i was thinking of doing them in toilet rolls and have been storing them away in preparation but wasn't too sure on how exactly to do it.

so will you just plant the toilet rolls out as they are now in a row?

hi guys,

i started them all off from seed in march, they were all started in my heated propogator, then left on the windowsill to harden off a bit then then went into the conservatory in little pots and were moved into the bigger pots last week.

nearly had a disaster when it got too hot in there ...when i opened the door up it was like an oven and my glasses steamed up...which reminds me i must by a min/max thermometer.

oh...its the first time ive grown parsnips so have no idea if it will work or if what im doing is right, but if ti doesnt work at least i tried and can always have another go lol

i think ill plant them out in the toiletrolls but further apart so they have room to grow, im also going to try to grow some in pre drilled holes.

Wow. Great pictures.

Great courgettes too. It's first time I've grown them this year and was surprised how quickly they grow and how big they get. Mine need repotting, and probably again before they go out.

I'm also growing chillies. Any tips? Currently they're little seedlings about 1 inch (ish) tall. They're in a tray of 3 inch cubes, three seeds per cube and most have germinated. Thinking of repotting into 3 inch pots this weekend.

Cheers,

Mark.

Thanks,

with the chilli, id do what you say...put them in 3 inch pots (mine are in cups as you will see lol)

then leave them a few weeks until they grow out of those pots and put them in bigger ones.

just make sure u keep them in a light place so they dont go leggy, you can also put some foil behind them to reflect the light.
