Hazel/cobnut tree help
« on: August 06, 2018, 06:59 »
Morning all. In the far neglected cornerof the plot I took on, is a tree which the guys think is either a hazel or cobnut tree, about 7ft tall. None of them can remember it producing nuts, at least for the last 10 years and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to get it going again? Half of it has grown kind of normally and straight, the other half is gnarled, knobbly and twisted. It was being strangled by bindweed so I've pulled all that away so that might help. The leaves are lush and green so it doesn't look diseased or anything... is it finished or is there potential to get it fruiting again?
