i was just cutting up a pepper and wondering the same thing!!!

I'm going to do a germination test on the seeds in a little compost on my kitchen window!  8)  wish me luck  8)

Maybe if you just try sowing some as early in the season as possible you always have the option of hotfooting it down to the garden centre and buying some seeds if they fail!

Nothing ventred nothing gained!!! :D

No reason why not.  I have grown chillis from seed taken from dried chillis.

They may not run true to type unless they have been grown in an area that is exclusively scotch bonnet, but you should get some sort or chilli.

May need a temp of around 25 C to germinate.

I've saved some bell pepper seeds. Cooking a chili tonight, in those I usually use scotch bonnets (1 or 2). They give off the most wonderful almost fruity smell when being cooked. I think the ones obtained from the spice shop up the road are imported from abroad, Jamaica I think. So I've got ecological reasons to be interested in growing scotch bonnet from seed as well.

I'm just going to dry them like I've done for the bell peppers. If they do sprout, maybe I can get them to overwinter indoors in a pot.
