Bird Flu Bourne Lincolnshire

2 greylag geese and 2 pheasants have been found near a farm. H5N6 strain. Might make the local commercial places actually do biosecurity.
Considering 2 pheasants are dead does not make DEFRA concerned about poultry risk....?

There doesn't seem to be anything about it on the DEFRA bird flu page yet Grinling.  Hopefully now we are moving into spring, higher temperatures will finish it for this year (fingers and toes crossed here).

I thought the whole of England was already under biosecurity rules?
Quote
“ Bird flu prevention zone has been extended to cover the whole of England and Wales. This means there is a legal requirement for all bird keepers to follow strict biosecurity measures.”

It is, but as Grinling says, a lot of people are ignoring it.

We have a farm near us that has chickens out in a field with feeders open to wildlife  >:(
