On a recent visit to Japan I came across Bonsai Leeks  ???

Here is the entire Leek crop for 2012!!!!

Punk isn't dead...it's underground where it belongs. If it comes to the surface it's no longer punk...it's Green Day!

I grew a packet of mini leeks one year in a pot... they grew to pencil thickness only..
Now a member of the 10 Ton club.... 2013  harvested 588 Kg from 165 sq mt..

I think you've been had there  ;)  :lol:

My autumn ones are a bit bigger than that, but they suffered slow growth early on and I know they are not a winter hardy variety, so they will get eaten up soon.

The winter ones are also smaller than usual, but they have a bit of time yet.  Will eat my way through the plot to them in time  :)

They went in April, the same size! no root development etc. Just been one of those years. We have very sandy soil here and anything below ground has either rotted or simply not grown from June onwards, our plots have been underwater for most of the summer and owt that was put in was washed away.
Roll on next year.
