Floppy cauliflowers
« on: April 16, 2018, 09:57 »

I bought some winter cauliflowers last autumn. Half of which I planted on my allotment and the other half I planted in my son's greenhouse.  The greenhouse one's already have a white ball  butare lying a bit floppy on their sides because, I think, the soil there is very light and sandy. Will this cause them any harm?

How soon should they be picked? Is there any point in blanching the white balls (pulling the leaves across to keep out the light)? The ones in my garden are firmly rooted although no white ball has appeared yet.
