Unexpected Disasters.....maybe?
« on: February 20, 2007, 00:50 »
Ho Hum....well, got home today to discover that our 'lively' spaniel, Dilly, had not only discovered our seeds   (conveniently placed all together in a beautifully crafted 'seed-bag' by the wife) and chewed her way through all the packets... but, had (as if enough was not enough) also mashed her way through and trashed 48 of our window ledge plantings of aubergines, cabbage, leeks, tomatoes (4 different varieties) squashes and...aaargh  , what evers....gawd bless her cotton socks.

On the positive side...we've scraped up the debris...and, who knows what will survive?

Gotta look on the brightside....  :D
If life gives you lemons...wrap a dog turd in newspaper and set fire to it on Life's doorstep.

My heart goes out for your loss, but it might not be a total one. It's the price one pays for having pets. Yours may crash and smash but my cats love to 'graze' so I've learned the hard way to keep the 2 well separated. Live and learn, and keep smiling.

fortunately its still early enough in the year to be able to start all over again - maybe keep doggies and seeds/plants well separated for next time?
Gardening organically on chalky, stony soil.
