« on: May 15, 2010, 17:32 »
I have rocket in pots in the garden and its pretty tasty, just went out to get some for my salad and a lot of its turned a purpley browny colour. it doesn't look bad but most of it is green Is this right? can i still eat it if its purple?!

Could be feeling the recent cold, or possibly running out of food (give them a liquid feed.)

If leaves are otherwise in good condition then chomp away (flowers aren't bad either, sort of nutty spicy flavour but perhaps not to everyone's taste!)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Thankyou, i shall be raiding my dads greenhouse for some liquid food this evening as we enjoy the green bits of the rocket in our salad to go with the BBQ!
They aren't flowering yet but i will be sure to give the flowers a go!
Thankyou!!
